Benefit of Garlic

Benefit of garlic:1.Garlic is claimed to help prevent heart disease (including atherosclerosis, high cholesterol , and high blood pressure and cancer. Animal studies, and some early investigational studies in humans, have suggested possible cardiovascular benefits of garlic.

2.A Czech study found that garlic supplementation reduced accumulation of cholesterol on the vascular walls of animals.

3.Another study had similar results, with garlic supplementation significantly reducing aortic plaque deposits of cholesterol-fed rabbits. Another study showed that supplementation with garlic extract inhibited vascular calcification in human patients with high blood cholesterol.

4.The known vasodilative effect of garlic is possibly caused by catabolism of garlic-derived polysulfides to hydrogen in red blood cells, a reaction that is dependent on reduced thiols in or on the RBC membrane. Hydrogen sulfide is an endogenous cardioprotective vascular cell-signaling molecule.

5.However, a randomized clinical randomized clinical trial funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States and published in the Archives of internal Medicine in 2007 found that the consumption of garlic in any form did not reduce blood cholesterol levels in patients with moderately high baseline cholesterol levels.

6.Despite decades of research suggesting that garlic can improve cholesterol profiles, a new NTH-funded trial found absolutely no effects of raw garlic or garlic supplements on LDL,HDL, or triglyceride. The findings underscore the hazards of meta-analyses made up of small, flawed studies and the value of rigorously studying popular herbal remedies.

7.In 2007, the BBC reported that Allium sativum may have beneficial properties, such as preventing and fighting the common cold. This assertion has the backing of long tradition in herbal medicine, which has used garlic for hoarseness and coughs. The Cherokee also used it as an expectorant for coughs and croup.

8.Garlic is also alleged to help regulate blood sugar levels. Regular and prolonged use of therapeutic amounts of aged garlic extracts lower blood homocysteine levels and has shown to prevent some complications of diabetes mellitus. People taking insulin should not consume medicinal amounts of garlic without consulting a physician.

9.In 1858,Louis Pasteur (Louis Pasteur (December 27, 1822 – September 28, 1895) was a French chemist and microbiologist born in Dole. He is best known for his remarkable breakthroughs in the causes and prevention of disease. His experiments supported the germ theory of disease, also reducing mortality from puerperal fever (childbed), and he created the first vaccine for rabies )observed garlic's antibacterial activity, and it was used as an antiseptic to prevent gangrene during World War I and World War II. More recently, it has been found from a clinical trial that a mouthwash containing 2.5% fresh garlic shows good antimicrobial activity, although the majority of the participants reported an unpleasant taste and halitosis.

10.In modern naturopathy , garlic is used as a treatment for intesttinal worms and other intestinal parasites, both orally and as an anal suppository. Garlic cloves are used as a remedy for infections (especially chest problems), digestive disorders, and fungal infections such as thrush.

11.Garlic has been used reasonably successfully in AIDS patients to treat cryptosporidium in an uncontrolled study in China. It has also been used by at least one AIDS patient to treat toxoplasmosis, another protozoal disease.

12.Garlic supplementation in rats, along with a high protein diet, has been shown to boost testosteron levels.

warnings:Garlic is known for causing halitosis as well as causing sweat to have a pungent 'garlicky' smell which is caused by Ally methyl sulfide (AMS). AMS is a gas which is absorbed into the blood during the metabolism of garlic; from the blood it travels to the lungs (and from there to the mouth causing bad breath) and skin where it is exuded through skin pores. Washing the skin with soap is only a partial and imperfect solution to the smell.

Raw garlic is more potent and therefore cooking garlic reduces the effect. The green dry 'folds' in the center of the garlic clove are especially pungent.

Garlic

Garlic is one of the most popular natural herbs of the world which have very rich history for both culinary and medicinal purposes.
Garlic, is a species in the onion family Alliaceae.. Its close relatives include the onion, shallot, leek, and chive.. Garlic has been used throughout recorded history for both culinary and medicinal purposes. It has a characteristic pungent, spicy flavor that mellows and sweetens considerably with cooking. A bulb of garlic, the most commonly used part of the plant, is divided into numerous fleshy sections called cloves. Single clove garlic (also called Pearl garlic or Solo garlic) also exists -- it originates in the Yunnan province of China. The cloves are used as seed, for consumption (raw or cooked), and for medicinal purposes. The leaves, stems , and flowers (bulbils) on the head (spathe) are also edible and are most often consumed while immature and still tender.

Garlic capital of the world
Garlic is grown globally, but China is by far the largest producer of garlic, with approximately 10.5 billion kilograms (23 billion pounds) annually, accounting for over 77% of world output. India (4.1%) and South Korea (2%) follow, with Russia (1.6%) in fourth place and the United States (where garlic is grown primarily as a cash corp in every state except for Alaska) in fifth place (1.4%). This leaves 16% of global garlic production in countries that each produce less than 2% of global output. Much of the garlic production in the United States is centered on gilroy.California, which calls itself the "garlic capital of the world.

Tiiens acupoints treasure

History of Acupoints
Acupoints used in treatment may or may not be in the same area of the body as the targeted symptom. The TCM theory for the selection of such points and their effectiveness is that they work by stimulating the meridian systems to bring about relief by rebalancing yin, yang, and qi (also spelled "chi"). This theory is based on the paradigm of TCM, not that of science.

Many East Asians martial arts also make extensive study and use of acupressure for self-defense and health purposes (chin na, tui na). The points or combinations of points are said to be used to manipulate or incapacitate an opponent. Also, martial artists regularly massage their own acupressure points in routines to remove blockages from their own meridians, claiming to thereby enhance their circulation and flexibility and keeping the points "soft" or less vulnerable to an attack.

Acupoint Treasure (also called the "Magical Needle"), when applied to the body’s acupressure or meridian points, will focus the device’s magnetic cluster through the skin, clearing "blockages" and disturbances to promote flow and circulation of "chi" (or the bio-electric field of the body).

It has taken more than 10 years of research, development and clinical application on the Acupoint Treasure with an effectiveness of up to 98.4%. It has won high acclaim from doctors, medical experts and patients all over the world. It’s simple application of ‘press’, ’scan’ and ‘pulse’ makes it a reliable healthcare tool for the relieve of various ailments ranging from migraine headaches to fever.

Tiens Acupoint Treasure
Tiens Acupoint Treasure combines ancient Traditional Chinese acupuncture therapy with modern electric pulse and magnetic therapy. The first of its kind in the world and a patented product, this high-tech pocket-sized acupressure device can eliminate or minimise the use of needles in acupuncture.Simply scroll the pen-like device over your body to channel its powerful magnetic therapy directly to the pain affected area and be pain free in moments. For enhanced effects, apply the electro-magnetic therapy to the applicable acupressure points.
The Magnetic Jade Accessory has been developed to use together with the Acupoint Treasure to help care for the skin. It forms a convex shaped magnetic field by combining the high-energy magnetic beam of the acupoint presser with the magnetic field of the Magnetic Jade accessory. It will help make your facial skin feel finer.

How its work?
According to the principles of TCM, qi flows through the body via 14 primary meridians or channels. To strengthen the flow of qi,or remove blockages in the meridians, an acupuncturist inserts a number of tiny, sterile, flexible needles just under the skin at certain specific points (called acupoints) along the channels. There are four to five hundred named acupoints along the meridians, some of which are associated with specific internal organs or organ systems. If you are suffering from nausea, for example, needles might be inserted into acupoints on your wrist, while a vision problem might be treated with needles in the foot. (Additional ear, scalp, and hand points are also commonly used by some practitioners.) Acupuncture practitioners believe that the therapy stimulates the body’s internal regulatory system and nurtures a natural healing response.
A variant system known as two point acupressure attempts to bypass a blockage of vital flow by using one acupoint to create a link with one of the collateral meridians, and then using one additional acupoint to stimulate or reduce the flow around the obstruction

Alternative medicine in the western world

Alternative medicine taking very popular place in the western world. Here Mr.Gong-Soog Hong co-author of the study and professor of consumer sciences at Ohio State University given some valuable informations about alternative medicine.

Nearly three out of every four adults over age 50 use some kind of alternative medicine, such as acupuncture and herbal medicine, according to a new study. While previous research has been limited, this appears to be a higher rate than occurs within the general population, said Gong-Soog Hong, co-author of the study and professor of consumer sciences at Ohio State University.

01.This study found that 71 percent of older adults of USA used some form of alternative medicine in 2000. A study done in 2002, found a lower rate -- about 62 percent - among all adults.

02."The percentage of older adults who used alternative medicine was higher than I expected," Hong said.

03."Many types of alternative medicine have not been tested for safety and effectiveness, and yet a large majority of older adults are using them. This tells us there is a serious need for more consumer education."

04.Hong conducted the study with Catherine Montalto, associate professor, and Vibha Bhargava, a graduate student, both in consumer sciences at Ohio State. They presented their research April 9 in Columbus at the annual meeting of the American Council on Consumer Interests.

05.The researchers used data from the 2000 Health and Retirement Survey, conducted by the University of Michigan and funded mainly by the National Institute on Aging. The survey included 848 respondents aged 50 and over.

06.The survey asked about the use of six types of alternative medicine: chiropractor, acupuncture, massage therapy, breathing exercises, herbal medicine, and meditation.

07.The most commonly used form of alternative medicine was chiropractor, which about 43 percent of respondents had used. Acupuncture was the least used.

08.Some of the results will need more research to explain, Hong said. For example, the findings showed Blacks, widows, and more religious people all tended to use alternative medicine more often than did other older adults.

09.Other results were more readily understandable.

10.Respondents were more likely to use alternative medicine if they said they were in poor health and if they reported more problems with daily activities, such as carrying groceries, eating or bathing.

11.Of those who described their health as poor, 65 percent said they used some form of alternative medicine they considered preventive or curative - a higher percentage than among any other group. And about 63 percent of respondents who said they were not satisfied with their health care also tried alternative therapies classified as preventive or curative.

12."Older adults tend to have more chronic illnesses, and conventional medicine doesn't always solve their problems," Hong said.

13.The aches and pains that often come with age may also send more older adults to search for different kinds of treatments.

14."Treatment of chronic pain is very difficult," she said. "People who are living with pain will try everything possible to alleviate it. Those taking a holistic approach toward life may try something else such as alternative medicine."

15.However, the exact reasons why these older adults used alternative medicine is not known from this research and needs further study, Hong said. The fact that those who were less satisfied with their health care were more likely to use alternative medicine does suggest some people have issues with the current state of conventional health care.

16.Hong said the medical establishment has begun studying alternative medicine and has begun to accept some forms of non-traditional medicine. But more study needs to be done before they are generally accepted.

17."Many people are using herbal medicines or massage therapy or other treatments based on what they read in popular magazines or see on television," Hong said.

18."More scientific research is needed to examine the safety and effectiveness of alternative medicines, especially about possible interaction effects when they are used along with prescription drugs."

19.Hong and her colleagues are working on a new study that will take a more comprehensive look at what alternative medicines people are using and how often they are using them.

20."Alternative medicine provides an important option in response to the need for health care in the United States," Hong said. "We need to know more about who is using alternative medicine and ensuring that they are educated about the medicines and therapies they are using."

Herbs

Herbalism is the study and practice of using plant material for the purpose of food, medicine, or health. They may be flowers, plants, shrubs, trees, moss, lichen, fern, algae, seaweed or fungus. The plant may be used in its entirety or with specific parts being used. In each culture or medical system there are different types of herbal practitioners: professional and lay herbalists, plant gatherers, and medicine makers.
Herbal medicines may be presented in many forms including fresh, dried, whole, or chopped. Herbs may be prepared as infusions when an herb is soaked in a liquid, or decocted which is when an herb is simmered in water over low heat for a certain period of time. Some examples of infusion are chamomile or peppermint, using flowers, leaves and powdered herbs. For decocting examples may be rose hips, cinnamon bark, and licorice root consisting of fruits, seeds, barks, and roots. Fresh and dried herbs can be tinctured where herbs are kept in an alcohol or made into ace tracts where it is contained in a vinegar extract.

They can be preserved as syrups such as glycerites in vegetable glycerin, or put in honey known as miels. Both of which have a sweet taste and the lack of alcohol being a more suitable choice for children. Powdered and freeze dried herbs can be found in bulk, tablets, troches similar to a lozenge, pastes, and capsules. Fluid and strong extracts being a stronger concentrate tend to work more rapidly finding a quicker result.

Non-oral herbal uses consist of creams, baths, oils, ointments, gels, distilled waters, washes, poultices, compresses, snuffs, steams, inhaled smoke and aromatics volatile oils.
Many herbalists consider using the patient's direct involvement in their own healing process and may use the patients intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual attention to the process as critical. All methods of these are delivered differently depending on the herbal traditions of that area.

Nature is not necessarily safe; special attention should be used when grading quality, deciding a dosage, realizing possible effects, and any interactions with herbal medications.

Alternative medicine in Korea

There are very rich history of Korean alternative medicine.

Korean medicine was originated in ancient times. In Gojoseok where the founding myth of korea is recorded, there is a story of a tiger and a bear who wanted to reincarnate in human form and who ate wormwood and garlic.. In Jewang Ungi, which was written around the time of Samguk Yusa, wormwood and garlic are described as 'eatable medicine', showing that, even in times when incantatory medicine was the mainstream, medicinal herbs were given as curatives in Korea. Moreover, the fact that wormwood and garlic are not found in ancient Chinese herbology shows that traditional Korean medicine developed unique practices, or inherited them from other cultures.

In the period of the Three kingdoms, the traditional Korean medicine was inflenced by other traditional medicines such as Chinese medicine. In the Goryeo dynasty with the influence of others like indian medicine, more intense investigation of domestic herbs took place, and the result was the publication of numerous books on domestic herbs. Medical theories at this time were based on medicine of song and Yuan, but prescriptions were based on the medicine of the Unified silla period: see the medical text Hyangyak Gugeupbang , which was published in 1245 and can be translated as First Aid Prescriptions Using Native Ingredients.

With the increase in the number of Korean immigrants coming to the United States in recent years it has become important for modern medicine to understand these traditional healing techniques and how they are used by the Korean community. Studies have shown that as many as half of Korean immigrants living in the United States practice some form of traditional healing at least part of the time, often concurrently with Western techniques. It has become clear to many in the medical profession within the United States that in order to promote the well being of their Korean patients as well as their elderly patients "new" techniques involving the use of traditional Korean methods may not only be preferred by their patients but necessary for continued health.

Alternative medicine

Now in the world "alternative medicine"is very popular things.but what is alternative medicine?

There is no clear and consistent definition as to the exact nature of alternative or complementary medicines. In a 2005 report entitled Complementary and Alternative Medicine in the United States the Institute of medicine (IOM) adopted this definition:

"Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) is a broad domain of resources that encompasses health systems, modalities, and practices and their accompanying theories and beliefs, other than those intrinsic to the dominant health system of a particular society or culture in a given historical period. CAM includes such resources perceived by their users as associated with positive health outcomes. Boundaries within CAM and between the CAM domain and the domain of the dominant system are not always sharp or fixed."

Other groups and individuals have offered various definitions and distinguishing characteristics. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) defines CAM as "a group of diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products, that are not currently part of conventional medicine." NCCAM has developed what the IOM calls "one of the most widely used classification structures" for the branches of complementary and alternative medicine. The Cochrane Complementary Medicine Field says:
"What are considered complementary or alternative practices in one country may be considered conventional medical practices in another. Therefore, our definition is broad and general: complementary medicine includes all such practices and ideas which are outside the domain of conventional medicine in several countries and defined by its users as preventing or treating illness, or promoting health and well-being. These practices complement mainstream medicine by 1) contributing to a common whole, 2) satisfying a demand not met by conventional practices, and 3) diversifying the conceptual framework of medicine.

A 1998 systemic review of studies assessing its prevalence in 13 countries concluded that about 31% of cancer patients use some form of complementary and alternative medicine. Alternative medicine varies from country to country. Dr.edzard Ernst believes that in Austria and Germany CAM is mainly in the hands of physicians, while some estimates suggest that at least half of American alternative practitioners are physicians. In Germany, herbs are tightly regulated, with half prescribed by doctors and covered by health insurance based on their legislat
ion.

SPIRULINA:WORLDS RICHEST HERBS

In severasl research and study showed Spirulina is the richest herbs of the world.
Japanese scientists look towards spirulina as the solution to the world's hunger problem. NASA considers it an excellent, compact space food for astronauts. The WHO has called it one of the greatest super foods on earth. And New Agers all over the world are rediscovering the wonders of spirulina.

In the USA, Christopher Hills, founder of the University of Trees, is convinced that the manna which the Hebrews ate in the desert belonged to the spirulina family. Hills has even appointed spirulina missionaries to distribute this miracle food. The single-celled bluish-green water alga is believed to be the first form of plant life on earth and formed a part of man's early diet. But its rising popularity in the last couple of decades can be traced to a French anthropologist who found, earlier this century, that a plankton from Lake Chad in North Africa was behind the remarkably good health of the Kanembi tribe living on the lakeside. He took it back home to study its composition.

What was 'dihe' to the Kanembis came to be known as spirulina, the word derived from the algae's spirally twisted filament-like structure. From origin to content: 1 kg of spirulina, it is claimed, is the equivalent of 1,000 kg of assorted vegetables; 10 gm of spirulina contain 6.6 gm of protein (milk has 0.32 gm). In addition, it has no bad cholesterol, has 18 of the 22 amino acids the body needs, and is the richest source of beta-carotene, an antioxidant which combats free radicals.

Agrees Reshmi, 29, who started taking spirulina during the second month of her pregnancy: "1 did' not take the general medicines prescribed by my doctor, yet my acute liver problem remained at bay. And I gave birth to an eight-and-a-half pound baby." Affirms Charanjit Singh, an Indian physicist who has been eating spirulina, off and on, for the past 17 years: "My health is remarkably good when I am taking spirulina, I do not even catch a cold. I take it in the form of flakes, sprinkled over any edible. My kids love it too." Singh's private theory is that 60 to 70 per cent of spirulina comprises DNA, which helps the immune system. When Singh returned to India from the USA seven years ago, he "hunted around for it, and finally tracked it down to Transtech, a company in Madras which was manufacturing and distributing spirulina under the brand name Progen", Transtech's Natarajan Sundaram had started producing spirulina as a village development project in 1989. His output is still only about 20 kg a month.Spirulina has slowly been gaining in visibility in India and is marketed under the brand names Natoxid, Multinals, and Progen, and is available in powder, flakes or tablet form. A bottle of 60 capsules costs about Rs 95.

There are half-a-dozen players already in the spirulina market-a subsidiary of the Thapar group with a capacity of 120 tonnes is perhaps the biggest. A recent entrant is Lucky Laboratories, an associate of Dabur India, which is currently test-marketing Sunova Spirulina in Karnataka and Goa. Spirulina is naturally found in lakes and ponds high in alkaline content, but in India it is cultivated in specially prepared water tanks. Spirulina's healing and nourishing qualities make it an ideal food supplement.

People who take it regularly say that it gives them more than adequate energy to see them through a busy day and makes them less stress-prone. It also helps control obesity, heart diseases and arthritis. There are no side effects, though some may not like its strong smell.

There are many manufacturer making spirulina capsule in the world. But few can maintain its orginality.Tiens the biggest herbal company of the world are making spirulina by biotechnology.Tiens spirulina is the best in the world.for more infornation you can read....mother care by spirulina. Waren Buffet advice

Worlds one of the top rich person Waren Buffet. Here he given his one vauable idea.Do you agree with it ?

The world's most successful investor once said that the secret of becoming rich was to be greedy when others are fearful and very fearful when others are greedy.

Warren Buffett has never been much of a real estate investor but his appreciation of the mentality of the investment crowd is probably the best of the best. So should the herd of investors now converging on Arabia be very fearful rather than greedy?

That large numbers of greedy investors are now present in the region is beyond doubt. The stock markets show 50-100% plus growth this year. Real estate projects have become so big that project launches in the UAE last week exceeded $20 billion. Money is just piling into more and more optimistic projects.

On Warren Buffett's logic this is the time to stay out of the market rather than become sucked into the maelstrom of greed, and a time to be very fearful of making commitments.

Thank you.

Biotechnology

Biotechnology is technology based on Biology, especially when used in agriculture, food science and medicine. United nations Convention on Biological Diversity defines biotechnology as:
Any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use.

Biotechnology is often used to refer to genetic engineering technology of the 21st century, however the term encompasses a wider range and history of procedures for modifying biological organisms according to the needs of humanity, going back to the initial modifications of native plants into improved food crops through artificial selection and hybridization . Bioengineering is the science upon which all biotechnological applications are based. With the development of new approaches and modern techniques, traditional biotechnology industries are also acquiring new horizons enabling them to improve the quality of their products and increase the productivity of their systems.

Modern biotechnology can be used to manufacture existing medicines relatively easily and cheaply. The first genetically engineered products were medicines designed to treat human diseases. To cite one example, in 1978 Genentech developed synthetic humanized insulin by joining its gene with a plasmid vector inserted into the bacterium Escherichia coil . Insulin, widely used for the treatment of diabetes, was previously extracted from the pancreas of abattoir animals (cattle and/or pigs). The resulting genetically engineered bacterium enabled the production of vast quantities of synthetic human insulin at relatively low cost, although the cost savings was used to increase profits for manufacturers, not passed on to consumers or their healthcare providers. According to a 2003 study undertaken by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) on the access to and availability of insulin in its member countries, synthetic 'human' insulin is considerably more expensive in most countries where both synthetic 'human' and animal insulin are commercially available: e.g. within European countries the average price of synthetic 'human' insulin was twice as high as the price of pork insulin. Yet in its position statement, the IDF writes that "there is no overwhelming evidence to prefer one species of insulin over another" and "[modern, highly-purified] animal insulins remain a perfectly acceptable alternative.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Herbology is one of the more important modalities utilized in traditional chinese medicine (TCM). Each herbal medicine prescription is a cocktail of many herbs tailored to the individual patient. One batch of herbs is typically decocted twice over the course of one hour. The practitioner usually designs a remedy using one or two main ingredients that target the illness.

Then the practitioner adds many other ingredients to adjust the formula to the patient's yinlyang conditions. Sometimes, ingredients are needed to cancel out toxicity or side-effects of the main ingredients. Some herbs require the use of other ingredients as catalyst or else the brew is ineffective. The latter steps require great experience and knowledge, and make the difference between a good Chinese herbal doctor and an amateur. Unlike western medications, the balance and interaction of all the ingredients are considered more important than the effect of individual ingredients. A key to success in TCM is the treatment of each patient as an individual.

Chinese herbology often incorporates ingredients from all parts of plants, the leaf, stem, flower, root, and also ingredients from animals and minerals. The use of parts of endangered species (such as seahorses, rhinoceros horns, and tiger bones) has created controversy and resulted in a black market of poachers who hunt restricted animals. Many herbal manufacturers have discontinued the use of any parts from endangered animals.

Save from heart stroke

Now the 8 million women with cardiovascular disease. Of course everyone knows that in order to be healthy, you need to eat healthy, exercise, and get consistent check ups with your doctor. This is not always the whole concept. In fact, more than half of heart attack and stroke sufferers have healthy cholesterol levels.

According to research, there are 2 other potential risk factors that are not being addressed. These risk factors are borderline high blood pressure and inflammation. These conditions are usually over looked in young women who seem to be fit and healthy. The long these conditions go unnoticed, the more damage there is to the cardiovascular system. There are ways to reduce these risk factors. Give these heart saving tips a try to live longer and stay healthy.

Nearly 20 percent of people under the age of 35 have high blood pressure. High blood pressure, or hypertension, forces your heart to work hard to pump blood through the body, which can cause arteries to narrow and raise your risk of heart attack and stroke. Ask your doctor during your next visit for your exact blood pressure numbers and if you do have hypertension, do something to change it.

The average American consumes 41 percent more sodium a day then the recommended 2,400 milligrams. Much of this sodium comes from processed foods, such as salads dressing, canned soups and frozen entrées.The second tip is to go for the bananas. Banana's are full of potassium and potassium works with sodium to regulate the water balance in the body, which promotes normal blood pressure. Most women get only half of the recommended 4,700 milligrams of potassium they need daily. Foods such as halibut and tomato sauce also has a good recommended amount of potassium.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) now rapidly spreading in western world. The western world now surprised
for various effective result by TCM.Specialy Tianshi representing good portion of Traditional Chinese medicine.

Contact with western culture and medicine has not displaced TCM. While there may be traditional factors involved in the persistent practice, two reasons are most obvious in the westward spread of TCM in recent decades. Firstly, TCM practices are believed by many to be very effective, sometimes offering palliative efficacy where the practices of Western medicine fail or unable to provide treatment, especially for routine ailments such as flu and allergies, or when Western medicine fails to relieve patients suffering from chronic ailments.

TCM has been shown to be effective in the treatment of chronic, functional disorders, such as migraines and osteoarthritis, and is traditionally used for a wide range of functional disorders. Secondly, TCM provides an alternative to otherwise costly procedures whom many can not afford, or which is not covered by insurance. There are also many who turn to TCM to avoid the toxic side effects of pharmaceuticals.

TCM of the last few centuries is seen by at least some sinologists as part of the evolution of a culture, from shamans blaming illnesses on evil spirits to "proto-scientific" systems of correspondence; any reference to supernatural forces is usually the result of romantic translations or poor understanding and will not be found in the Taoist-inspired classics of acupuncture such as the Huang Di Nei Jing. The system's development has, over its history, been analysed both skeptically and extensively, and the practice and development of it has waxed and waned over the centuries and cultures through which it has travelled yet the system has still survived thus far. It is true that the focus from the beginning has been on pragmatism, not necessarily understanding of the mechanisms of the actions - and that this has hindered its modern acceptance in the West. This, despite that there were times such as the early 18th century when "acupuncture and moxa were a matter of course in polite European society".

The term "TCM" describes the modern practice of Chinese medicine as a result of sweeping reforms that took place after 1950 in the Peoples Republic of China. The term "Classical Chinese medicine" (CCM) often refers to medical practices that rely on theories and methods dating from before the fall of the Qing Dynasty (1911). Advocates of CCM portray it as less influenced by Western and political agendas than TCM.

Tiens financial report 2008

Tiens Biotech Group (USA) announced financial results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2008.

For the third quarter ended September 30, 2008, revenue was $26.2 million, an increase of 137.6% compared to $11.0 million for the third quarter ended September 30, 2007.

Net income for the third quarter of 2008 was $14.5 million, an increase of 377.0% compared to $3.0 million for the same period in 2007.

The increase in revenue for the third quarter of 2008 reflects an increase in revenue for both China and internationally.

For the third quarter of 2008, revenue in China was $14.6 million, an increase of 330.1% compared to $3.4 million for the same period in 2007. During the third quarter, Tianshi Engineering, the affiliated company which markets and sells Tiens' products in China, announced plans to increase the prices of its products in October 2008. Tiens believes that the increase in revenue in the third quarter was due in part to customers stocking up on certain products as a result of the price increase announcement by Tianshi Engineering. Therefore, the increase in sales may not continue through the fourth quarter of 2008. At the present time, however, the price increase of Tianshi Engineering products will not affect the price at which Biological sells to Tianshi Engineering.

For the third quarter of 2008, international revenue was $11.6 million, an increase of 52.1% compared to $7.6 million for the same period in 2007. The increase in international sales reflects further reductions in export restrictions by China for countries in Africa and Asia through the third quarter of 2008.
In August 2007, China's Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine ("AQSIQ") announced an ongoing national campaign in China against unsafe food and substandard products. The special campaign against poor product quality was launched in response to a series of safety scares involving Chinese products worldwide. The campaign set 20 detailed goals, including twelve "100 percents". For example, 100 percent of food producers should be licensed; 100 percent of agricultural wholesale markets in cities must be monitored; 100 percent of suppliers of raw materials for exported products should be inspected; and 100 percent of agricultural products must be free of five types of strong pesticides. The campaign, which was originally scheduled to finish at the end of 2007, is currently scheduled to continue throughout 2008.
As a result of this campaign by the AQSIQ, there has been a general slow- down and backlog of export clearances for Chinese food products, and, from August 2007 through the first quarter of 2008, Tiens experienced significant delays in obtaining export clearance for all of the products which we sell to our international affiliates. Beginning in the second quarter of 2008, these export restrictions were reduced for exports to countries in Africa and Asia, but remained in place for exports to countries in Europe and the Americas. During the third quarter of 2008, these export restrictions were further reduced.
For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, revenue was $58.7 million, an increase of 41.1% compared to $41.6 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2007.
For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, net income was $22.8 million, an increase of 56.5% compared to $14.6 million for the same period in 2007.
For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, revenue in China was $29.2 million, an 85.5% increase compared to $15.7 million for the same period in 2007. The growth in revenue during the third quarter was offset by a 15% decrease in revenue in China during the first quarter of 2008. During the first quarter of 2008, Tiens believes that sales in China were negatively impacted by continued uncertainty in China regarding the impact of recently enacted direct selling regulations and uncertainty regarding the timing of the direct selling license application process and approval.
For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, international revenue was $29.5 million, an increase of 14.0% compared to $25.8 million for the same period in 2007. This increase in international revenue was mainly due to an increase in sales in Russia and Indonesia.
Other Highlights
Cost of sales for the third quarter of 2008 increased $113.8% to $6.6 million, compared to $3.1 million for the same period in 2007. This increase was mainly due to the increase in revenue for the period. Cost of sales for the period increased at a lower rate than revenue primarily due to the increase in sales of products sold to Tianshi Engineering which have a lower cost compared to products sold to overseas companies.
For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, cost of sales increased 40.7% to $16.9 million, compared to $12.0 million for the same period in 2007. This increase was in line with the increase in revenue for the period and was due to both the increase in sales and the increase in the value of the renminbi against the dollar.
Gross profit for the third quarter of 2008 increased 146.8% to $19.6 million, compared to $7.9 million for the same period in 2007. For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, gross profit increased 41.3% to $41.8 million, compared to $29.4 million for the same period in 2007. The gross profit margin for the third quarter of 2008 was 74.8%, compared to 72.0% for the same period in 2007. This increase reflects the increase in proportion of sales with higher gross profit margins. For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, the gross profit margin was 71.3% compared to 71.2% for the same period in 2007. The increase in gross profit margin during the third quarter was offset by a 4.2% decrease during the first quarter of 2008.
Selling, general and administrative expenses were $4.6 million for the third quarter of 2008, an increase of 18.5% compared to $3.9 million for the same period in 2007. The increase was primarily due to increases in salary expense and research and development. Selling, general and administrative expenses as a percentage of sales was 17.4% for the third quarter of 2008 compared to 34.9% for the same period in 2007. For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, selling, general and administrative expenses were $12.9 million, an increase of 22.8% compared to $10.5 million in the same period in 2007. For the nine months ended September 30, 2008, selling, general and administrative expenses as a percentage of sales was 22.0%, compared to 25.3% for the same period in 2007. This decrease reflects the increase in sales.
In China, Tiens sells its products to Tianshi Engineering, an affiliated Chinese company. In order to qualify for a direct selling license in China, Tianshi Engineering is required to produce a part of the products that it sells in China. As a result, in 2006, Tiens began to sell semi-finished products to Tianshi Engineering, which jointly shares licenses with Tiens to produce, manufacture and sell the products. The semi-finished products, which Tiens is now exclusively selling in China, have lower sales prices than the finished products Tiens had previously sold to Tianshi Engineering. The application of Tianshi Engineering for a direct selling license in China is still pending.
Tiens continues to strive to expand its market share in China through the branches, chain stores, and Chinese affiliated companies of Tianshi Engineering. To enhance its position in this competitive market, Tianshi Engineering continues to increase its marketing activities in China, including opening additional branches across China, developing a nation-wide advertising campaign, encouraging media coverage and strengthening the Tiens brand.
As of September 30, 2008, Tiens had $101.5 million of retained earnings and total shareholders' equity of $143.6 million.
Jinyuan Li, Chairman, President and CEO of Tiens, said, "We are extremely pleased with the significant increase in both our domestic and international revenue and continued sequential growth since the first quarter of 2008. We continue to benefit from reduced international export restrictions and are optimistic that our international sales will further increase as additional export restrictions are lifted. We are well positioned to capitalize on our growing international customer base and remain committed to gaining greater market share in China for our high quality products as well."

Success tips of tiens

When asked to Bill Gates if you loss all of your money then what can you do?Bill Gates says"Given another Chance, I will choose Network Marketing Business"

This is very simple if you understand. As a new distributor there are some questions may grow in your mind. Here are these questions & answer.

I don't have time to do this business !
World's richest men did it by utilizing their spare time, Henry Ford started in his own garage, Bill Gates in his room, etc. The uniqueness of this business can be shown this way. Example you have only 2 hours in a week that you can dedicate for this business. When your group/network grows to 4 people, who each dedicate 2 hours in a week for the business, your total working time in the business will grow to 4 X 2 hours = 8 Hours. When your group/network grows to 100 people you will have 100 X 2 hours = 200 Hours or 8 days and 8 hours in a week working for the business. Isn't that Marvelous ?

I don't have any friends who'd be interested in this business
Once, a world champ sharp shooter heard sounds of riffle-shots in the forest. When he went to the source he saw a lot of circle marks on trees and leaves around that space. He went closer to see the circle marks and found out they were shooting targets, and they're all a bulls-eye! He was shocked that he himself would not be able to do such when a young boy came carrying an old riffle. Carefully he asked the young boy," Were you the one who shot these targets?" "Yes!" He replied proudly. "How on Earth did you do those perfect shots?", the world champ asked hurriedly?. "Well,..." said the young boy," I shot all the things that I can see, leaves, branches, and trunks, then I put circle marks around them"

Is Tianshi's compensation plan uses pyramid system?
Pyramid system is an illegal system that a member on top will Always enjoy the generated sales/purchase by his downlines. Tiens (Tianshi) doesn't adopt that system. In Tiens (Tianshi) there is no free lunch ! If your upline is *5 be a *6 and he will not be eligible to receive bonus from your group, The system is Fair !

This kind of Business is Illegal?
If this kind of business is illegal, how can Tiens (Tianshi) spread its wings to over 170 countries?
This is how distribution made in conventional business:
Factory > Distributors > Agents > etc... >
Consumers Factory spends a lot of sum of money for advertisements, and discounts given to distributors, agents, etc. This is how distribution made in Network Marketing business: Factory > Distributors (Also acts as Consumers)The money to be spent for advertisements, and discounts are transformed as a bonuses for distributors. Advertisements are done by distributor through business meetings.

Have the application accepted by TianshiWhile you work with the people you sponsor ,read through the training materials, and encourage them to adopt the principle of "duplication" (by following the success system and copying your successful techniques ) and "multiplication" (by building on your initial training to create a "style" and consultant of their own ).

In addition to selling which is essential to building a successful business , one of your most important goals is to ensure that you have a solid base of Distributors selling the outstanding Tianshi products and services .This is the "duplication" part of the business that generates high income to those Distributors who build a well trained and large organization.

Your Selling Skills Involve
1. using the products and services.

2. making the products and services available to your self ,your family ,friends, neighbours and people you meet .

3. demonstrating the products and services to expand your contacts and merchandising opportunities .Sponsoring – A Continuing ProcessWho do you sponsor ?You can sponsor anyone . Just give people a chance to discover Tianshi with your help , then allow them to take the decision for themselves . Talk about the opportunity in personal meetings and share your experience.Who do you know?Anyone you know could be a potential member of your Tianshi network organisation . And you know more people than you might think.

Make a list and approach them .Presenting the Tianshi opportunity When some one express an interest in learning more about Tianshi opportunity, you can opt for any of the two presentations.

1. One-on-one

2. GroupGoing One-on –oneIt may be effective for you to share the Tianshi opportunity with someone in the relaxed, informal atmosphere in the One-on-one presentation . Share two things

.A.Importance of Tianshi philosophy and access to information

B. Involvment in the Tianshi marketing planMerchandise the product and opportunity first. Explain the "values & benefits". Encourage your contact to ask questions .This will give you an idea of what his/her primary interest in Tianshi is .then gear your presentation around that angle.

Handling Objections in the One-on-one PresentationsWhen the prospect begins to ask questions ,you have the opportunity to become a friend instead of a sales person . Handling objections positively can result in success for you and your contact .Group Presentations If you prefer to invite your propect to a group meeting, do so immediately. You should anticipate that 40% to 50% of the people who say they will attend a meeting will actually show up . This normal , so don’t be disappointed .Just plan ahead .Handling Objections at Group Presentations Ideally it is best for you to try to answer questions on a one-to-one basis after you have concluded your presentation . Handle all questions with a positive attitude.Closing the MeetingWhen you are ready to close ,ask guests to turn to the person who invited them..Encourage them to ask questions .When you have done this ,capitalize on the excitement of your guests and close the meeting with enrollment and/or additional TIanshi sales.Bringing new people into your network is just the beginning. Now you have the responsibility of training and supporting them with the help of your upline leaders . Encourage them to follow the strategies of "secret to success" as well as the lessons you have learned from your personal experience . As you teach people to do what you have done , you duplicate your efforts and you succeed all over again .

1. Help new Distributors in your network to sponsor people

2. Contact your Distributors for training and meetings3.Support your new Downlines
